This is true yoga, but with a streak of freedom. Guided by me, driven by you, and inspired by ancient knowledge, neuroscience, play, mobility, strength, and much more.
Mindful movement (Yogasana), Breath (Pranayaam), and Meditation are the path home.
Hope to practice with you soon!
आत्म वन्दन

You don’t need flexibility to practice yoga, and you don’t need a peaceful mind to practice meditation.
It isn’t about perfection, it’s about developing an understanding of your body, nervous system, and the meditative space beneath.
The benefits are endless.
This is your experiment, and it should feel good.

Here, we don’t practice watered-down yoga. I get my teachings straight from the source:
Ancient Vedic Knowledge.
But I also use modern science or fact-checking and guidance, because, well… science rocks!Science and Tradition don’t need to be at odds with each other. Both are valuable.
Plus, the more tools we have to understand something, the better our understanding becomes.
After nearly a decade of study and practice, I know what’s at the heart.
THE PHILOSOPHY
दर्शन
-
My philosophy comes from Swami Shyam, a prominent meditator, teacher, and founder of the International Meditation Institute in Kullu, Indian Himalayas.
Swami means ‘great teacher’, and Shyam means ‘Space’. Swami Shyam is so-named because his methods introduce us directly to the Space of our own awareness: Shyam Space.
Shyam’s teachings get directly to the point. They are distinct from many other interpretations, because they are not religious, and don’t dictate any strict rules or rituals. Instead, Shyam gives the power back to the meditator.
-
The Vedic Tradition of One-ness is simple, timeless, and practical.
It pre-dates Yoga, Buddhism, and Hinduism, but shares many of the same ancient texts and ideas.
According to this tradition, there is an eternal peace and power at the core of our awareness. Meditation and yoga are the tools to access it.
When studying ancient material, the translator and teacher make all the difference. My main influences are Swami Shyam and his teachers from The International Meditation Institute.
I am blissful.
-
This sanskrit mantra translates to:
I am Immortal, I am Blissful.
If you’re new to meditation, this might sound a little out-there.Think of this this way:
Imagine you’re seated at the foot of a beautiful mountain range, watching the sun rise or set. In this moment, you may feel a strong sense of majesty and peace, provoked by the timeless and enduring mountains. However… though this feeling is inspired by the mountains, it is generated in you. When we meditate using the mantra Amaram Hum Madhuram Hum, we invoke that same sense of timeless majesty, peace, and strength within ourselves.
No mountains required.
-
Shyam Space is the Space of our own unclouded awareness, seen during meditation. When we practice yoga, this is the space we watch from, breathe from, and move from.
Both beginners and experienced yogis see the same Shyam Space. However, with practice, this Space becomes more familiar, and its grounding influence becomes stronger.
But… your practice is your own. Nobody can tell you what to believe. This isn’t about faith, it’s about direct experience. Try it out and decide for yourself.
What do you see?

THE TEACHER

I grew up barefoot in sunny, wild places: equitorial rainforests, deserts, and beaches. I’m most at home when I’m outside. When I started practicing yoga and meditation, going outside felt natural.
But this isn’t just whimsy. This is a uniquely challenging time. In the modern age, it’s an act of self-empowerment and resistance to be attuned to nature and attuned to yourself.
The natural world is a mirror of our own innate peace, wisdom, power, and freedom. What better stage to practice on?
-
I was an engineer. It started with a prestigious corporate job. It ended with a PhD developing robots to restore ecosystems. From the outside, it was a success story. On the inside, I was restless, anxious, and depressed. My life was coloured by chronic health issues, chronic pain, and chronic stress.
Honestly, the first time I tried meditation and yoga…
I hated them!
But all I needed was the right approach. Once I found it, I never looked back. I eventually quit engineering to pursue a more fulfilling and balanced life. After years of perseverance, practice, and incremental lifestyle changes, I have reversed my Crohn’s disease, removed the clouds of depression and anxiety, and dramatically strengthened my nervous system and my body.
As I age, I’m only becoming healthier and happier.
